The Exchange Club of Macon Youth of the Year 2019-2020: Stephanie Pierson, Mt. de Sales Academy
Miss Pierson competed with five finalists, from local schools, in activities, community service, grades, personal achievements, and an essay competition to be selected as The Exchange Club of Macon’s Youth of the Year.
2019-2020 Youth of the Year theme: “We are a nation of communities… a brilliant diversity spread like stars, like a thousand points of light in a broad and peaceful sky.” – George H.W. Bush; How do you intend to serve as an example, now and in the future, of a responsible American citizen?
The professors who graded the essays wrote, “Miss Pierson’s essay was thoughtful, with sophisticated sentence structure and strong control of metaphor. This was a powerful, well-focused essay.”
Miss Pierson will receive a $500 scholarship from The Exchange Club of Macon and she will be entered into the District, then National competition. Congratulations, Stephanie! You are an amazing young lady.
